We’re back in heatwave times again, so I hope you are all managing to keep cool in this hot weather. This Sunday we have our informal Café Church style service, held at 10.30am in Berrow Village Hall which I’m sure will have a nice through draught blowing through it! Rev Julie is always so inventive with her liturgy, music and craft based activities, so there’s something for everyone and coffee and refreshments to follow – what more can you ask? Then at 6.30pm at All Saints, Hollybush we have a service of Evensong from the Book of Common Prayer with hymns, psalms and canticles. All are very welcome to attend – and remember, our church buildings are gloriously cool in this lovely hot weather!
We continue to pray for the people of Ukraine, and Bishop John has asked us to send out this prayer into our congregations and communities;
Lord of all the earth,
be present with the people of Ukraine
at this time of danger, fear, and conflict.
Grant that wise and peaceable counsels may yet prevail,
and give to all suffering nations the freedom they desire and deserve.
We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Do keep an eye on either the calendar on this web site, or our parish magazine, for up to the minute news on our service schedule, and any changes which may come about as a result of tightening Covid restrictions. We are looking to introduce a new rota of services for February, increasing our offering to two services per Sunday – watch this space for more news on this.
We continue to hold Phone Church services at 7pm every Friday – click here for details on how to join us.
More good news is that our churches are still able to be open for private prayer, so both The Church of the Redeemer, Pendock Cross and All Saints, Hollybush are now open from 9am to 5pm every day of the week. And there are no longer any restrictions on the number of folk who may attend weddings, funerals or baptisms – apart from the capacity of each church building. Do get in touch with Rev Julie in the first instance if you need help with planning any of these important life events.
Our Benefice covers the five parishes of Berrow, Pendock, Eldersfield, Birtsmorton and Hollybush that run along the south western-most boundary of the Diocese of Worcester.
