Alleluia He is Risen!! Come and celebrate the amazing good news of the resurrection with us at 10am at St Faith’s Berrow this Easter Sunday. Your service sheet can be downloaded here and we very much look forward to welcoming you to join the celebrations – there might even be an Easter egg or two around the churchyard!
Our Good Friday meditation takes place on Phone Church via Zoom at 3pm on this most solemn day in the calendar of the Church. Here we confront the ultimate sacrifice made by Jesus to save us from our sins, here we look upon the cross and weep for ourselves and for our world. Thank God that we know that Easter Day is just around the corner.
We meet at 7.30pm on Phone Church via Zoom to celebrate the Last Supper, and to focus on the new commandment which Jesus gave to his disciples to love one another as he had loved them. This is the moment when Jesus gave us the eucharist, that central service of the Christian church. Its a very moving service, for which you will need a towel, bread and wine.
Our final Lenten Compline focusses upon Psalm 137, described by Patrick Woodhouse as the bitterest of the psalms, describing the pain of exile and enslavement. The full reflection can be viewed or downloaded here, and Doug will read his summarized version from 7.15pm and then lead us one last time in our Lenten Compline service which can be viewed or downloaded here.
We reach the midpoint of Holy Week, and pause for our regular service of Morning Prayer at 11am on Phone Church. As we always say, come for the worship, stay for the chat where we help and support each other through these strange times. Your service sheet can be viewed or downloaded here, and you are most welcome to join us.
Our Tuesday reflection is on one of the shorter psalms, psalm 13, but a psalm shot through with grief and despair. The full reflection upon it can be viewed or downloaded here, and your service sheet can be viewed or downloaded here. Our catch up begins at 7pm, with the reflection and service running from 7.15pm. All are very welcome to join us.
We arrive at the Monday of Holy Week, and we continue our exploration of the psalms. Tonight, David takes on Psalm 91, a psalm we use regularly in our weekly Compline service – precising down a long and involved reflection for us. The full version can be viewed or downloaded here and your service sheet can be viewed or downloaded here.
We meet as usual on Phone Church, 7pm for 7.15pm, and you are very welcome to join us for this last week of our Lenten pilgrimage.
Cometh the hour, cometh the donkeys! We look forward to welcoming you and our wonderful donkey friends to Birtsmorton Church this Sunday to celebrate Jesus’ triumphal arrival into Jerusalem at the start of Holy Week. There will be donkeys, a procession, and an Open the Book drama, so we look forward to welcoming you all.
Your service sheet can be viewed or downloaded here, and please do remember to bring a face covering with you to wear whilst in church.
